The 2026 annual suite of contract registers for municipal waste and multi-disciplinary sectors has now been published. The registers offer an extensive database of live contracts (as of April 2026) and each register provides detailed insight including; associated contracts, awarding authorities, geographic coverage (county and region), contract durations and appointed contractors.
BDS Contract registers provide a powerful intelligence tool for organisations involved in bidding, subcontracting or supplying services, enabling users to identify active opportunities and better understand market dynamics across these key sectors.

| Treatment Contracts – Wigan Borough Council has recently awarded a three year contract for the haulage and treatment of domestic mixed recyclables (~£6 million) to H.W. Martin Waste. Disposal Contracts – North Lincolnshire Council awarded a two year framework agreement, with possible extra two year extension, for the provision of waste, collection treatment and disposal. Lots included wood, carboard, batteries, scrap metal and textiles. Recyclate Contracts – Arun District Council has awarded a high-value contract, (~£200 million), to Biffa. The contract is set to run from 2026 through to 2034. Residual Contracts – Tendring District Council awarded a household Residual Waste Collection contract to Veolia Environmental Services (~ £28.9 million). The contract, awarded in December 2025 will be in operation until 2034. |

| Highway Maintenance Contracts – Norfolk County Council has procured a major Highways and Infrastructure Works Term Services contract (~£700 million) to Kier Group. This contract represents one of the largest long-term highways investments at county level in the UK. Grounds Maintenance Contracts – Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Scotland, has recently awarded a~£2 million Grounds Maintenance Contract 2026-30 to Dasan Solutions ltd. Leisure Contracts – West Northamptonshire Council has awarded a major leisure facility operating contract (~£140 million) to Everyone Active. This marks one of the region’s most significant long-term investments in wellbeing. The contract will remain active for an initial 10-year term, with the option to extend by a further 10 years, potentially running until 2046, if required. Street Cleansing Contracts -Herefordshire Council is bringing its long-running Street Cleansing contract with Balfour Beatty (~ £351 million) to a close in May 2026. A newly procured public realm contract will then come into effect (June 2026) with a preferred new contractor of M Group Highways. |
