Pasture House Quarry, located in West Yorkshire, is an established sandstone quarry operated by Marshalls Mono Ltd. The company submitted a planning application in June 2026 for a 2.3-hectare northern extension to enable the site to continue supplying locally extracted natural stone while utilising neighbouring processing facilities.
The proposed extension contains ~ 328,900 tonnes of sandstone (blockstone and boulderstone) in situ and could provide up to five years of additional supply to the region (dependent on market demand and the rate at which the reserve is worked). The quarry is located near Marshalls’ Brookfoot Works which will allow for high-quality raw material to travel short distances to the processing facility, where it would be cut and manufactured into finished natural-stone products.
The current proposal follows a previous planning permission, consented in January 2026, to allow sandstone to be recovered from beneath the former alignment of Brighouse Public Footpath. If the extension application is subsequently consented, the land will be progressively restored to create a wildflower hay meadow and grassland.
