Ready Mixed Specialists Ltd, a London-based supplier of concrete for domestic and commercial developments, has received planning approval for a ready mixed concrete facility at Freightmaster Estate in London, South East. The application, submitted in July 2024, was approved by the London Borough of Havering in January 2025 and will help the company meet demands for construction projects in the region.
The facility will be established within the Freightmaster Industrial Location in Havering, replacing a previously approved temporary site used for processing road sweeping and gully waste operated by Veolia.
Once operational, the plant is expected to produce around 50,000 m³ of concrete per year. The new site will feature a fully automated batching process controlled by computer, with four aggregate hoppers. The main building will be steel clad in green and the existing concrete bay walks, formerly used for waste processing, will be repurposed for storing raw materials. A fleet of nine concrete mixer trucks will operate from the site for concrete distribution.
The company’s existing concrete batching plant at Salamons Way, Rainham is set to close as the landowner moves forward with alternative redevelopment plans. The new facility allows Ready Mixed Specialists Ltd to relocate operations and continue supplying concrete across East London. The plant will operate Monday to Saturday from 6.00 to 17.00.
