Individual Client Survey
Over 60 surveys are commissioned by individual clients in a typical year. These projects can vary in length from a few hours to perhaps one month's detailed analysis. Many of the surveys completed on behalf of individual clients are of a confidential nature, so we do not publish a list of clients. However, a majority of the leading construction materials companies will commission BDS at least once a year. Other less specialised consultants also use BDS to take advantage of its expertise and knowledge of particular markets. Private equity companies, banks and other institutions benefit from the impartial and detailed advice offered by BDS.
We have two main aims:
Firstly, to provide practical marketing solutions for clients who can then use the information to improve their business.
Secondly, to offer cost effective research within agreed deadlines. By emphasising 'service', BDS believes this will encourage clients to use the consultancy again in the future. This is confirmed by over 85% of current clients having used the company previously. With many commissioned projects, BDS will already have some market information from over 10 years research. This means that tight deadlines can be met.

All surveys are managed by the company's principal consultants, Julian Clapp and Andy Sales, who previously held senior management positions in leading building materials companies. All research is conducted by the company's own team of researchers. There is no outsourcing to other consultants unless specific information is required.
