Listing of unimplemented consents for food retail stores

This report published in Summer 2007 shows all known current planning consents for food retail stores. These are outstanding consents for both new stores and extensions to existing stores. This report will be updated annually.

From the BDS database of planned food and non food stores, all local authorities were contacted to identify the latest position of each proposal. Information was also checked with property developers, retail companies and other businesses in the sector.

This information identifies retail stores that will be built shortly and affect the competitive position of other retail companies. Retail stores where development of the scheme has stalled may provide other companies with the opportunity to progress the scheme. Around 400 schemes are included, sorted by region and county.

Information has been sorted alphabetically by county within the ten economic planning regions. It includes England, Scotland and Wales. Details are available by region or county if required, as well the full report.
